NAME

timex - a manager for time lists

SYNOPSIS

timex [-toolkitoption ...] [-option ...] [file to edit]

DESCRIPTION

The timex program displays a list of projects, with an elapsed-time clock for each project. The clock ajadecent to the currently highlighted project will be running, showing the time used as HH:MM.

It also saves the stuff to a file for each day.

The day is called YYYY-MM-DD, and is located in the $HOME/.timex directory. If you don't like this, set the environment variable TIMEXDIR to the directory you want instead.

If it is given a filename, it tries to locate this in the ~/.timex directory and gives you a chance to edit it. When doing this, "save" and "load" buttons appear, together with the filename, and it does NOT count the time.

It reads the projects from the file "projectlist" in the ~/.timex directory.

The auxillary PERL program "sumtimex" may be used to sum the files to give an hours-worked list for each week.

To the right of the command box is a counter that lists how much time has passed, in the format "HH:MM[+-]MM". The last number is how many minutes you have added or subtracted since TIMEX started.

The command buttons available are:
quit
Self-explanatory

+
Add 5 minutes to current project

This option indicates that a brief summary of the allowed options should be printed on the standard error. NOT IMPLEMENTED YET.

-ip

-sp
Start in paused mode (no active project)
-dir
Work in another Timex directory

The following standard X Toolkit command line arguments are commonly used with timex:

-xrm resourcestring
